A POPULAR tractor run is set to return next weekend.
Stretton Young Farmers Club is gearing up to host another charity tractor run following the success of its 2023 event.
Dozens of vintage and modern tractors will pass through various villages between Northwich and Warrington, raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
Hannah Reade, vice chair of Stretton YFC, said: “We hope many of you will join us, whether it’s bringing a tractor along or watching us along the route.
“The proceeds will be split between the club and a charity very close to our heart, the British Heart Foundation. Any donations will be greatly received.
“Heart attacks that strike without warning, strokes that shatter futures, newborn babies born with broken hearts. These are just some of the cruelties of cardiovascular disease.
“And the brutal reality is, there is so much more for science to discover before we can beat the world’s biggest killers.
“That’s why the British Heart Foundation exists to fund research. “
Stretton YFC provides its members, aged up to 30, with the opportunity to develop skills, work with their local community, take part in competitions and more.
Hannah added: “Stretton YFC has evolved over the years bringing along lots of happy memories from past and current members as farming and agriculture has been through some uncertain times.
“The core values still remain the same, the club continues to provide its members with a wealth of new experiences and opportunities for personal development and achievement, a much-needed social and educational network and a safe environment for activities.”
In 2023 huge crowds lined country lanes between Northwich and Warrington for the run, which was organised as a way of celebrating Stretton YFC turning 80.
Around 100 tractors of all ages, shapes, and sizes turned out for the event on February 12 last year.
A spokesman for the club said at the time: “Today has been incredible. What a way to celebrate Stretton Young Farmer’s Club turning 80.
“Too many tractors to count, and loads of money raised for the Multiple System Atrophy Trust.”
