AN inquest into the death of a woman who died after being attacked in Chelford has been delayed.
Chintzia McIntyre was seriously assaulted outside her home on Phoenix Place, Great Sankey, on Tuesday, August 29, last year, Warrington Coroners’ Court heard on Wednesday.
Cheshire Police were called following reports of an 'incident', the hearing was told.
Despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, the 48-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives launched an investigation and a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with murder the following day.
The teenager has appeared in court accused of her murder and will stand trial on June 26.
The youth cannot be named for legal reasons.
Area coroner Victoria Davies confirmed that the inquest will be suspended due to ongoing criminal proceedings.
The case will be reviewed on August 8.
