POLICE have arrested a man in Birchwood on suspicion of drink driving.
According to reports on social media, three police cars were seen this morning, Monday, near the One Stop store in Birchwood.
Cheshire Police confirmed to the Warrington Guardian that this was in relation to a suspected incident of drink driving, with a 40-year-old man arrested at the scene.
When questioned about the incident, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 10.33am on Monday, January 22, police were called to reports of a car driving erratically on Gorse Covert Road, Birchwood.
"Officers attended and a white Mercedes Sprinter van was stopped.
"The driver of the van, a 40-year-old man from Ormskirk, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.
"He remains in custody at this time."
