A VIGIL will be held to mark the anniversary of Brianna Ghey's murder.
Brianna was killed in February 2023, with two teenagers having been found guilty of her murder by Manchester Crown Court last December.
For legal reasons, the two 16-year-old murderers cannot yet be named.
On February 11, a vigil will be held in Warrington to mark 12 months since Brianna was murdered in Culcheth Linear Park.
The event next month will be held at the Golden Square Shopping Centre, on Sunday, February 11, at 3pm, in the Old Marketplace.
One week after Brianna was murdered there was a memorial vigil held in the Golden Square to mark the teenager's death.
The anniversary vigil has been organised by the Peace in Mind campaign, which has been driven by Esther Ghey and the Warrington Guardian.
This event is set to include speeches from those close to Brianna's family, as well as those who have been involved in creating the campaign to give her the legacy that she deserves.
There will also be music from pupils at Birchwood Community High School, where Brianna was a pupil, and the vigil's organisers hope that many people will be in attendance.
Tom Bedworth, the Warrington Guardian's community reporter, said: "I've reported on Brianna's story from the very beginning, and it has been the biggest story that Warrington has seen over the last 12 months.
"Holding a vigil in memory of her, and marking the anniversary of her death, gives us the opportunity to remember Brianna for who she was, rather than the tragic way in which she died.
"We're very grateful to the Golden Square for agreeing to host this event for us, and we hope that as many people as possible will attend in order to remember Brianna in a fitting way."
The vigil for Brianna Ghey will take place on Sunday, February 11, at 3pm in the Old Marketplace, in the Golden Square Shopping Centre.
