A FUNDRAISER is set to be held for a men's mental health organisation that is led by Warrington Wolves.
The event will be held by a local gym, Northern Strength, which can be found in Bewsey.
Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation organises the 'Offload' mental health group, for men with 'moderate to low' mental health.
James Howes is the health and wellbeing manager for the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, he said: "Offload (Tuesday, 6.30pm at the Halliwell Jones Stadium) is aimed at adult men who have low to moderate mental health and struggling with the pressures of life.
"Using the professional experiences of elite athletes, the project aims to raise awareness and tackle the stigma of mental health/illness by giving men the tools to move forward."
The fundraiser that is being held in Bewsey will take place on Saturday, January 20, at the gym, and will include a number of features aiming to raise money for Offload.
According to the gym's social media page, the fundraiser will include a weightlifting competition, as well as a charity raffle.
The raffle has a number of prizes up for grabs, including:
- Two £100 Strength Shop vouchers
- Two Mirafit tactical backpacks
- Three A7 wrist straps
- A7 stiff knee sleeves
- Three-month online nutrition coach
- £15 Lyft voucher
The weightlifting competition also has prizes up for grabs, for both male and female competitors:
- First place - £250
- Second place - £100
- Third place - £50
Announcing the fundraiser in November, Northern Strength said: "We are pleased to announce that our chosen charity for 'Get It Off Your Chest 2024' will be the Warrington Wolves Foundation
"We have chosen this local charity as there is a strong rugby league fan base in the gym but also due to their wonderful mental fitness project Offload.
"Offload is helping challenge how the world tackles issues such as depression and anxiety and has already received widespread acclaim for its work with thousands of men.
"The Wolves Foundation work in partnership with Rugby League Cares to deliver weekly sessions open to all men aged 18 and over where men meet and talk with elite athletes to learn techniques to manage their own mental and physical fitness.
"All event profits and ticket sales will be donated to this worthy charity to create a healthier, happier and more resilient community."
The event will take place on Saturday, January 20, at Northern Strength - spectator tickets can be purchased with a recommended donation of £2.
