YESTERDAY saw distressing news, as it came to light that the body of a missing woman was found at a property in Bewsey.
There were a number of updates that came from the developing story, and here is everything we know about it so far.
Tuesday, January 16
At 10.10pm on Tuesday, January 26, officers from Cheshire Police were called to reports of a missing person.
That person was a woman from Warrington.
Cheshire Police began their search for the missing woman.
Wednesday, January 17
At 9.33am, officers from Cheshire Police sadly located the body of the missing woman from Warrington at an address in Bewsey.
The address is a property on Folly Lane.
Police confirmed that the address is believed to be that of the woman.
There was a large presence of emergency vehicles at the scene, and a number of police officers were in attendance, as were members of the crime scene investigation team.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed to the Warrington Guardian that a 51-year-old man from Warrington had been arrested on suspicion of the woman's murder.
The spokesperson also said that the man was assisting officers with their investigation.
As per Cheshire Police's statement: "Police searching for a missing woman from Warrington have sadly located a body.
“Officers were called to reports of a missing woman at around 10.10pm on Tuesday, January 16.
“At 9.33am [on] Wednesday, January 17, officers discovered a body at an address on Folly Lane that is believed to be that of the missing woman.
"A scene is currently in place on Folly Lane and an investigation is now underway to establish the circumstances.
“A 51-year-old man from Warrington has been arrested and is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.”
The latest update was that Cheshire Police have confirmed to the Warrington Guardian that the property on Folly Lane is a 'multiple occupancy' house, meaning that various non-related individuals may reside there.
