A MAJOR route through west Warrington is scheduled to be closed for weeks during the evening.
Warrington Borough Council has confirmed in a traffic notice that Sankey Way in Great Sankey will be closed for periods.
The council has published a temporary prohibition of driving order for the road which will come into effect from Monday, February 12.
Sections of the road will be closed during this period between 7pm and 5am to allow teams to carry out resurfacing works.
This will be between the A57’s Pink Eye Roundabout junction with at Priestley Street, Lovely Lane and Thewlis Street, to the junction at Cromwell Avenue South.
An alternative route has been drawn up taking motorists on Priestley Street, Froghall Lane, Midland Way, Lythgoes Lane, Winwick Road, Cromwell Avenue and vice versa.
