THE grandmother of teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has been given time off to watch her grandson in his semi-final.

Luke Littler has made shockwaves throughout the sporting world in the World Darts Championship, and he is one win away from reaching the final.

The Nuke, from Warrington, will take on Rob ‘Voltage’ Cross this evening, Tuesday.

The 16-year-old former Padgate Academy pupil has already scored £100,000 in prize month for his exploits in the competition so far.

Viewers will have seen an army of support for him in attendance at Alexandra Palace over the past month.

One keen supporter is his grandmother Carol Littler, who was waiting on the green light from her employer – Halton Borough Council – to make the trip down to London from Runcorn.

Thankfully, the hygiene operative at Runcorn Town Hall has been given the go-ahead, the council has confirmed.

A spokesman for Halton Borough Council said: “Here at the council, we would like to congratulate Luke on his fantastic achievements.

“We are delighted at how he has performed in the World Darts Championships so far.

“We wish him all the very best for the semi-final, and hopefully the final.

“Of course, we are more than happy for Carol to have the time off to go and watch her grandson.”
