JANUARY sees the return of baby sign language classes in Stockton Heath for families with newborns.

TinyTalk Warrington – the winner of our Best for Kids 2023 award – is launching a special six-week course of baby sign language and communication classes focusing on supporting parents through the tricky early weeks and months of having a tiny baby.

Thérèse Markham, of TinyTalk Warrington, Newton and Lymm, said: “I’m looking forward to starting these classes for newborn babies and their families.

“We will be looking at how tiny babies communicate using their senses and how parents can use this knowledge to develop a clearer understanding of their child’s cues and needs.

“It’s a fascinating series of classes using songs, BSL (British Sign Language) based baby signs, rhymes and activities to ease families through the challenging early weeks of having a new baby.”

Workshops will be held at St Thomas’ Church Hall starting on Tuesday, January 2 and will be suitable for babies up to the age of 12 weeks.

TinyTalk Warrington owner of over 18 years, and class teacher, Thérèse, who has been the owner of TinyTalk Warrington for more than 18 years, added: “It is amazing how much our babies want to tell us, even from a very young age.

“I’m looking forward to helping new parents from the area negotiate the often tricky fourth trimester.

“The workshop helps parents to identify their baby’s early communication cues, as well as meeting other new parents.

“It’s so vital that they have others around who are dealing with similar challenges and give them a few ideas up their sleeves which might help soothe and settle their babies when things get tough.”
