A WOOLSTON primary school has taken on a charity event in memory of a beloved member of the school's community.
St Peter's Catholic Primary School, off Hillock Lane in Woolston, hosted an 'elf run' in aid of St Rocco's Hospice.
The school held the event on Friday, December 15, in memory of Kate Farmer, who was a parent at the school, as well as a governor at St Peter's.
Pupils taking part in the event dressed up in festive garb and took on the challenge.
Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, the school said: "The children completed a half-hour sponsored elf run around our mile track on Friday afternoon.
"We had our own ‘St Peter’s elf’ there to warm us up in the hall beforehand and cheer us on throughout.
"We did this in memory of Kate Farmer, who was one of our loved parents, governors and friends of St Peter’s.
"We set out to raise £1,000 and we smashed our target but you can still support us on our JustGiving page."
