A DOG suffered a puncture wound after being attacked by another dog believed to be an XL bully.
The attack occurred last month but came to light this week during a PCSO report delivered to Birchwood Parish Council.
The XL bully is said to have been walked by an 11-year-old girl before it came loose and attacked a man and his French bulldog.
The man was knocked to the floor but was uninjured, with police officers speaking to the owner of the XL bully to offer ‘words of advice’.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 2.10pm on Sunday, November 5, officers responded to reports that a 28-year-old man had been attacked by a dog, believed to be an XL bully, on Heather Close, Warrington.
“Officers attended the scene and found that an 11-year-old girl had been walking the XL bully, when it had come loose from her and jumped at the man and his dog, a French bulldog.
“The victim was knocked to the floor during the incident but was not bitten or injured.
“The French Bulldog received a minor puncture wound to its stomach.
“Officers spoke to the owners of the bully and gave them words of advice regarding who should walk the dog.”
