A FESTIVE Elf Dash at Gulliver’s World has raised more than £1,000 for two causes.

The event, which saw 500 people dress up as Christmas elves to run or walk a one-mile stretch around the popular theme park resort, donated £5 from every ticket sale to both Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity, and Warrington Youth Zone.

Craig Clews, resort manager at Gulliver’s World in Old Hall, said: “We had so much fun at this year’s Elf Dash – and raised a great amount for local causes, too.

“It was fantastic to see so many people take part, getting into the festive spirit in fancy dress, making memories while doing something great for the community at the same time.”

Helen Higginson, head of fundraising at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals charity, said: “We had a great time at the Elf Dash and we’re over the moon with the amount raised. It will go towards our Making Waves children’s campaign target of £55,000 to support young patients within the Children’s Ward, Children’s Ophthalmology and Children’s Emergency Department, so thank you to everyone that took part”.

Sophie Bentley, head of fundraising at Warrington Youth Zone, said: “What a wonderful event the Elf Dash was, with many of the families who’ll benefit from the funds raised attending themselves!”
