A WOMAN and a dog have sustained injuries after a dog attack involving an XL Bully.

Officers were called to the scene at Peel Hall Park at approximately 10.30am this morning, Wednesday.

The dog, believed to be an XL Bully, had attacked another dog and bitten a female.

Police have confirmed minor injuries were sustained by the woman and paramedics attended the scene to provide first aid care.

The injured dog has been taken to the local vets for treatment.

Meanwhile the other dog was seized by police officers and ‘taken to a secure location’.

The owner of the dog has reportedly fled the scene shortly after.

Detectives say he is a ‘young man who was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a parka jacket’.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: “At around 10.30am on Wednesday 13 December police were called to reports of a dog attack at Peel Hall Park, Warrington. 

“Officers attended and found that the dog, believed to be an XL Bully, had attacked another dog and bitten a member of the public.

“Thankfully the woman only sustained minor injuries and she has been passed to the care of paramedics. The injured dog has been taken to a local vet for treatment.

“The dog has since been seized by officers and will be taken to a secure location.

“The owner dog is reported to have fled the scene following the incident and enquiries to locate him are ongoing.

“He is describes as being a young man who was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a parka jacket.
