PADDINGTON'S Dog and Partridge pub has been given planning permission to refurbish its beer garden.
Warrington Borough Council gave the pub the green light for the transformation when an officer report was made available this week, December 12.
According to the documents available on the council's planning portal, the applicant says: "This application aims to redecorate the existing external decking to front and beer garden with tall timber posts and a new raised covered pergola to the rear of the building as well as a new bin store."
The official description for the application on the planning portal reads: "Proposed raised deck with timber pergola to the rear of the building, timber posts to rear garden, bin yard to the rear and west of the building and redecoration of existing decking to the front."
It is stated by the applicant, Greene King, that the refurbishment will benefit the pub.
Greene King said: "The use of the building and this site would remain unaltered as a public house.
"The proposed works are to enhance existing customer facilities & staff operation, in order to help facilitate the ongoing economic viability of this existing and well-established operation.
"The existing public house use of this site comprises a beneficial and appropriate use of this building and their continued use as such allows for public access into and around the building.
"Public access would therefore continue."
The application was submitted to planners at the town hall in July, and a planning officer recommended in August that the plans should be approved.
Now that permission has been granted, the work must commence within three years.
