A CONTRACT for a substance misuse service is set to be awarded.
A report will come before the council’s cabinet at its meeting on Monday, which will advise members of the outcome of the tender evaluation process and seek authority to award the tendered contract, in order to meet the anticipated contract commencement date of April 1, 2024, of an ‘all age substance misuse service’.
A report to cabinet says: “The recommended service will meet the needs of the town by supporting residents in their addiction, reduce crime, support children and young people affected by substance misuse and focus on a recovery model ensuring people are discharged to live fuller lives.
“The quality and value of the proposed provider will ensure a robust all age drug and alcohol treatment service for residents in Warrington.
“The longevity of the contract (five years plus the potential of two further periods of one year) will ensure that consistency of service will be delivered across the town, enabling people using drugs and/or alcohol the best chance to recover from their addiction.”
The report says the ‘quality and value’ of the proposed provider will ensure a ‘robust all age drug and alcohol treatment service’ for residents in Warrington.
The cabinet is recommended to approve the award of the tender for the service.
