IT is official, bin men have returned to work in Warrington.
Yesterday, the bin strikes were called off after 10 long weeks.
They were due to last until at least Christmas Eve, but yesterday, Thursday, an agreement was reached between Warrington Borough Council and members of the trade union Unite.
Bin lorries were sent out today, Friday, as normal services resumed in the town - with most residents having had just one collection since the start of October.
Today, black bins were emptied in Great Sankey and blue bins were collected in Chapelford, Westbrook, Bewsey, Whitecross, Callands, Old Hall and Sankey Bridges.
One resident, John Baker, captured the return of bin crews in a moment that he jokingly described as a ‘rare sight’.
Narrating the footage, he said: “Now here, we have one of the rarest sights in Warrington.
“You see them, not often, but here.”

The council has advised residents to put both of their bins out for the next two weeks to make sure they get a collection on their normal bin day.
Posting on social media, the council said: "As we get back to normal with collections, for the next two weeks, to make sure you get a bin collection, put both bins (black and blue) out on your normal bin day.
"We will then collect the right bin for you.
"Please leave your bins out until 4pm."
"If in doubt, put both bins out."
