QUEUES for the tip in Stockton Heath are ‘worse than ever’.
It comes as bin strikes continue to hit the town.
The fourth phase of the walkout is set to end today, Monday.
However, according to Warrington Borough Council, further notice has been served that Unite may strike until Christmas Eve.
It means community recycling centres are the only option for most residents to dispose of their household waste.
Over the last few months, those trying to access these centres across Warrington have been hit with long queues.
And there is no sign of the queues easing, with one resident describing the queue for Stockton Heath tip as ‘worse than ever’ this morning, Monday.
It is believed there is around a 45-minute wait just to access the Stockton Heath Community Recycling Centre currently.
Queues are stretching all the way back down Sandy Lane.
Last Tuesday, the council’s case was heard at the High Court in London regarding the bin strikes.
It made the case to grant an interim injunction to immediately stop the industrial action.
However, the interim injunction was not granted.
