IT may start later than most of the light trails that dominate the calendar for families in November and December.
But the return of Luminate to Walton Hall is worth the wait.
The woodland trail runs from today, Thursday, until Christmas Eve.
And for those who have been before, there is a new route as well as plenty of new installations to enjoy as well.
We went along with two under fives and despite the sub-zero temperatures, they loved it.
For one thing, there are three light tunnels to travel through, the largest close to the conservatories being the most impressive and ending with a huge snowflake.
There are also plenty of interactive elements children will love trying.
The moving lasers return but there is also a fun wheel of fortune style test of whether you have been naughty or nice this year.
When the weather gets cold, or wet, there are lots of refreshments to enjoy on the walk (which takes between an hour and an hour and a half) with a new large tent to enjoy after you toast marshmallows or try a mulled wine.
One of the highlights for us was the fairies dancing in the wooded area near the pond which this year includes lighted orbs on the water and a huge moon.
It provides a magical finish to the experience.
And if you are still in need of a snack or drink, there is plenty available in the heritage courtyard.
Tickets are available now but have to be bought in advance online.

Prices start at £16.75 for adults from Mondays to Thursdays and then £21.25 from Friday to Sunday.

It runs from 4.30pm to 8pm.
