A YOUNG flasher has been sentenced by the courts for a series of disturbing incidents.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, but is of Warrington, was behind a number of exposure incidents.
Cheshire Police confirmed earlier this month that it had charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with an investigation in the Whittle Brook area of Great Sankey.
It came after a series of reported flashing incidents in March and April.
He was bailed to appear before Warrington Magistrates’ Court this month, where he entered guilty pleas to four charges of exposure.
The particulars of the charges state that he intentionally exposed his genitals, intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress.
Magistrates sentenced him to a youth referral order for 12 months.
A referral order is the community sentence most often used by the courts when dealing with 10 to 17 year olds, particularly for first time offenders who plead guilty.
They require that an offender must agree a contract of rehabilitative and restorative elements to be completed within the sentence.
Referral orders can include reparation or restitution to the victim, for example, repairing any damage caused or making financial recompense, as well as undertaking a programme of interventions and activities to address their offending behaviour.
He was also ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £120 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £26.
