WARRINGTON'S care leavers are set to host Christmas markets for three weeks in the run-up to the big day.
The care leavers will be selling products that they have spent weeks crafting, including decorations and festive treats.
The group of enterprising young people have been meeting through November and December to create all of the stock that will be sold on the stall at Warrington Market from scratch.
The market stall will be based in the foyer of the market on the following days:
- Thursday, November 30: 10am – 2pm
- Thursday, December 7: 10am – 2pm
- Thursday, December 14: 10am – 2pm
Marketgoers are advised that the stall will be cash-only, with profits going back to the care leavers.
Cllr Sarah Hall, cabinet member for children's services, said: “I am delighted to see the return of the Care Leavers Christmas Market to Warrington Market this year, which is bigger than ever with even more fantastic homemade gifts on offer.
“This scheme not only showcases the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our care leavers, but also provides a way to support these young people through the festive season, which is typically the most expensive time of the year.
“I encourage everyone to come along to the market to get into the holiday spirit and bag yourself some unique Christmas-themed products, while also helping to raise money for a wonderful cause.”
