A BRIDGE Street building described as being in a 'poor' state of repair could be set for a transformation.
Plans have been submitted to turn two former takeaways close to Bridge Foot into housing for 10 people.
The block has been empty since 2019 and most recently housed the Mayflower and The Brecks.
The three-storey building dates back to the Victorian times and could now be given a new lease of life.
The application submitted to Warrington Borough Council proposes turning the site into a home of multiple occupancy.
The blueprints state: "The scheme will provide a generous communal living space for residents on the ground floor of the property including a large open plan kitchen, living and dining space.
"A utility /laundry is also provided on the ground floor. Two HMO bedrooms will be provided on the ground floor, with four HMO bedrooms on each of the first and second floors of the property.
"All bedrooms will have ensuite bathrooms.
"The HMO will be targeted to private residents seeking an affordable housing solution in the local area. These are likely to be young professionals working within the Warrington area."
