A CARAVAN abandoned in Stretton has been burned down before it was planned to be removed by Warrington Borough Council.
Pictures of the shocking burnt-out vehicle were posted by Hatton, Stretton, and Walton Police.
Last week the abandoned caravan was reported to Warrington Borough Council, with the vehicle set to be removed.
At around 6.10 pm last night, Sunday, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a caravan on fire on Spark Hall Close.
Two fire engines were sent from Warrington and Lymm, and the blaze was put out.
Hatton, Stretton, and Walton Police posted on their Facebook page:
“Following on from post last week regarding the abandoned caravan on Spark Hall Close.
"Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the location last night due to unknown persons deliberately setting the caravan on fire.
“I have updated Warrington Borough Council who will still attend to remove, however the task of removing has become more complicated and expensive due to state it is now in.
“If you have any information to help identify who is responsible for either abandoning the caravan or setting it on fire, please drop me a message.”
