A CASUALTY was freed from a car by firefighters after a rush hour crash closed all three lanes on the M56.
The crash, involving two cars, happened at around 5.20pm yesterday (November 25) on the westbound carriageway between junctions 10, for Stretton, and junction 11, for Preston Brook.
The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance while firefighters made sure the second car was safe.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire crews from Warrington, Lymm, and Runcorn attended a collision during rush hour on the M56 westbound, near junction 10, for Stretton.
“Firefighters released one casualty from a car.
“The person was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
“Firefighters made a second vehicle safe and were at the scene for around 80 minutes.
“Motorists were advised to avoid the area via the service's social media channels.”
