AN award-winning bar and restaurant in Warrington town centre has unveiled its new winter food menu.

The Botanist, located in Time Square, is offering customers sharing boards, oozy Camembert cheese and mouth-watering twists on the Christmas classics.

Expertly crafted by in-house chefs and created lovingly from scratch, this is the comfort food to indulge in as the winter chill creeps in.

Famous hanging kebabs feature a new festive addition – orange and cranberry glazed turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets, served with all the trimmings and a pot of gravy to drizzle down.

Another main dish available until Christmas is the turkey pie of the day topped with mashed potato, cranberry sauce and crispy sage, and served with a jug of gravy.

The best bit? It comes with a giant pig in blanket sat on top of it.

For starters, there is a whole melted camembert baked inside a sourdough loaf, with sweet onion marmalade which comes served with crispy garlic croutons to dip into it.

The new side dish on the menu is sure to bring festive cheer; a garlic fougasse tear-and-share style bread with a pot of melted garlic butter to dip or drizzle.

For those who cannot decide, You don’t have to, as The Botanist’s hot board now comes with tater tot poutine, Cumberland scotch egg, halloumi fries, salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken katsu bites.

The vegan option includes bang bang cauliflower, giant couscous, houmous with roasted chickpeas, vegan meatballs in marinara sauce and crispy mushrooms.

Those with a sweet tooth have not been forgotten, as the restaurant’s signature cookie dough has had a seasonal update too.

The new s’mores option is topped with toasted marshmallows and chocolate brownie chunks, with a biscuit crumb.

The salted caramel comes with sticky, sweet butterscotch sauce and salted pretzel pieces to make the perfect festive treat.

James Scott, executive chef at The Botanist said: “This time of year is all about celebration and enjoying good food with loved ones.

“With this menu, we wanted to showcase a modern take on feel-good comfort food with festive flavours, offering our diners a seasonal update to the signature dishes they have come to know and love when visiting our restaurants.”

Dishes start from £7.25 for starters, £13.95 for mains and £5.25 for desserts.
