THE developer behind a plush hotel in Warrington town centre has received coveted awards for the scheme.

Priestley Homes and Construction claimed the titles at the International Property Awards in London, which recognises the highest levels of achievement of property and real estate companies.

The Chorley-based property group won the best new small hotel construction and design award in Cheshire for the Old Post Office in Warrington.

The Grade II-listed building, which had been vacant since 2017, was transformed into a high-quality boutique aparthotel with 21 rooms last year.

Located in Palmyra Square in the Cultural Quarter, the extensive £3.2million renovation project retained and refurbished many original features, with the addition of modern tech.

Priestley also won best residential development award in Cheshire for The Paddocks in Knutsford and best residential renovation development award in west Yorkshire for Cliff Oaks in Leeds.

The Paddocks is four bespoke detached homes, while Cliff Oaks is a former private estate, transformed into 20 modern homes after it fell victim to fire damage.

Nathan Priestley, founder and CEO of Priestley Group, said: “What all three projects had in common was our dedicated and professional approach to getting the job done, overcoming many challenges and ensuring we kept to the very highest of standards.

“We are very proud of what we achieved, but to also receive third party endorsement from the International Property Awards panel is massively rewarding.”

On Old Post Office, he added: “Our aim was to deliver the best hotel in town, while also being sympathetic to the original listed building and keeping within a strict budget for our boutique hotel operator client.”
