LUCKY Latchford litter pickers will receive support thanks to Co-op stores.

The Tuesday Litter Team, a group of resident litter pickers from Latchford, will receive support from the Co-op Community Fund thanks to shoppers choosing to back the group’s efforts.

Three Co-op stores have agreed to support this initiative over the coming year.

All money raised by local customers shopping at the stores will help equip the Latchford Saturday Litter Team and support the Tuesday Team Litter Picks.

The Tuesday Team is also hoping to support the new Latchford Gardening Gang.

“We are very grateful to the Co-op Community Fund,” explained Keep Britain Tidy ambassador and Grappenhall resident Tony Dixon.

“After litter removal, gardening in public spaces is an excellent way to build local pride and keep the area looking its best.

To celebrate the good news, the Tuesday Team gathered outside Knutsford Road Co-op before going on a short walk around the neighbourhood.

Over the course of the walk, the team collected a total of five bags of litter.

The team says it is always open to new volunteers, and it can be contacted through the Latchford Litter Network Facebook page.
