A MAN who killed a gaggle of geese after ploughing into them in his car has been told he could go to prison.
Widespread outrage was caused following the shocking incident on Omega Boulevard back in July after images and videos circulated on social media.
The footage caused widespread outrage and led to the arrest of 31-year-old Abraham Andemariam.
He has since been found guilty of seven offences of killing a wild bird, namely a greylag goose, as well as driving a motor vehicle without a valid MOT – a black Hyundai Ioniq - and driving without due care and attention.
Andemariam, of Asbridge Street, Liverpool, appeared before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning, Monday, for sentencing.
However it was heard that Andemariam, who is originally from Eritrea in East Africa and speaks Tigrinya, needed an interpreter as he finds it ‘difficult’ to communicate in English.
As one was not present at the court, the judge agreed to adjourn the defendant’s sentencing until next Monday.
He reminded Andemariam that he could be facing a ‘period of custody’.
