THE Warrington Youth Zone aims to make Christmas time as magical as possible for as many children within the community.

In the lead up to Christmas there are a whole host of events that both children and adults can get involved with to spread some festive cheer.

We have compiled a list of some the exciting thing coming soon:

Christmas Appeal

Last year, with the support of the business community and many individual donations, the Youth Zone distributed over 450 hampers, 2,500 toys, and served 50 Christmas dinners as part of their Christmas appeal.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the community.

Christmas should be a magical time of year, especially for children, but for many families in our community, it can be a worrying time with so many pressures on family finances.

You can help to support local people to have a Christmas to remember by getting involved.

WYZ are partnering with organisations across Warrington including Warrington Food Bank to take donations to fill hampers with essential food items and provide gifts for children aged between seven and 19.

There are drop off points across Warrington or you can drop donations at Warrington Youth Zone.

Breakfast with Santa

The Youth Zone have also pulled out all the stops, so children are able to book to have breakfast with the big guy himself.

Each child can bring their letters addressed to the North Pole along with them and give them directly to Santa before sitting down to a breakfast feast with lots of fun and festive entertainment.

On arrival, they will also meet Santa's elves before joining in with the festive activities, gingerbread decorating, making reindeer dust, and more.

This event promises a delightful experience for families and friends.

Tickets are available to book at £15 each on Saturday, December 9, December 16 and December 23.

Under 3s go in for a fiver.

Arrival is by 9am to enjoy the full festive atmosphere but limited spaces available so make sure to book in time.

Members parties

Plans are in place for the Springboard, Buddy Up, Junior and Senior Christmas parties for members of the Youth Zone.

With over 500 young people attending the Halloween parties, the Christmas Parties are bound to be just as popular.

The Buddy Up & Springboard Christmas party for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities will be hosted on December 17.

A Christmas party for senior members aged between 12 to 19 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs) will take place on December 20.

Meanwhile on December 21, the junior members aged between 7 to 17 years will enjoy their Christmas party.

Lastly the Youth Zone will provide their Family Meal Christmas Party on December 22 which will be supported by donations from the Christmas Appeal.

Santa Sleigh

Community is at the heart of WYZ and there is nothing the members love more than spreading festive cheer across Warrington.

The highly anticipated Santa’s sleigh will make its exciting return.

Santa, his sleigh and members and workers from the Youth Zone will parade through neighbourhoods to make sure every child gets a chance to see a glimpse of Santa.

The sleigh will start its route across Warrington on December 11 up until December 14.

It will then begin again on December 18 to 21 and will be out from 5pm onwards.

The routes it will take will be released the first week in December on the website warringtonyouthzone.org and on their social media platforms.

The team are asking for help from some extra elves to support Santa so if you would like to support Santa this December please let them know by contacting Rebecca on 01925977277 or emailing volunteer@wyz.org.uk

The Youth Zone will be open throughout the Christmas period until 3pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It will reopen on December 27 until December 30 and will close after that until January 2, 2024
