A DRUNK driver was caught speeding down the motorway.
North West Motorway Police have arrested a driver who was going at more than 100mph on the M56.
They were clocked doing 107mph while travelling between J9 for Lymm and J10 for Stretton in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 19).
Police breathalysed the driver at the roadside and they blew 46 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35.
They were then taken to custody and tested again, blowing 41.
As such, the driver was charged with drink driving and will now be dealt with at court.
The vehicle, an Audi A1, has been seized.
