TAKE a look inside a swanky new bar that has opened inside an iconic town centre building.

Tank Bar and Live Lounge is officially opening today, Friday.

It is based inside The Hive - the former TJ Hughes and Co-op on Sankey Street and Cairo Street.

The venue, which is named after a tank that is outside it and was the old sprinkler system for the building, boasts two floors – an upstairs bar area and a ‘secret’ bar below where live music will take place.

Tank Bar and Live Lounge is also available to book out for private events.

“It is a friendly but lively atmosphere with the best selection of drinks,” said bar manager Owen Williams who lives in Bewsey but is originally from Newton-le-Willows.

Warrington Guardian:

“We are not just a bar, we are a venue.”

Owen has plans to introduce ‘soul Sundays' further down the line.

Tank Bar and Live Lounge joins other businesses in The Hive such as Black Sheep Coffee, Pendergast Steakhouse, and Sky Garden.
