THE festive countdown is on at the Golden Square Shopping Centre, with Christmas trees having been erected.
As is traditional, a large Christmas tree has been installed in the Old Marketplace, marking the build-up to the festive season.
The Old Marketplace in years gone by has seen traditional market huts serve food and beverages throughout the Christmas period.
No doubt the shopping centre will see an influx of visitors in the run-up to the big day, with Christmas shopping beginning once again.
A range of festive activities will be taking place in the centre of town, including the return of Warrington’s Weekend Wonderland.
Taking place on the weekend of November 25 and 26, the festival will see a host of Christmas-themed activities come to the town centre, including:
- Choir and carol singing
- Funfairs
- Artisan markets
- Narnia-themed wonderland and performances at Queen’s Gardens
