POLICE are investigating a burglary at a house in Winwick in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday.

An unknown number of offenders broke into an address on Myddleton Lane after 2am.

They conducted a search of the property, leaving it a mess, before fleeing empty handed.

Cheshire Police has confirmed it is investigating the incident, and it is appealing for anyone in the area who may have witnessed anything to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: “At around 2.53am on Wednesday, November 15, officers responded to reports of a burglary on Myddleton Lane, Warrington.

“Officers attended the scene and found that an unknown number of offenders had forcibly gained access to the property via a side door and conducted an untidy search of the address.

“Despite this, nothing was reported as stolen.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are currently ongoing.”
