A WARRINGTON health and social care charity is in line for 25 prestigious care awards.

Workers at Warrington-based health and social care charity Making Space are celebrating after the charity has been shortlisted for 25 awards.

These nominations are for recognition in the annually held Great British Care Awards, the Social Care Leadership Awards and the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care (WAGs).

Wendy Moore is a support worker from Warrington who has been shortlisted for the Dignity in Care Award.

Anna Evans is another worker who has been nominated for an award. In her case, Anna has been nominated to receive the Workforce Development Award.

Furthermore, the entire team behind the Warrington Psychological Wellbeing Service are in contention for an award in recognition of the higher-than-average recover rates they achieve for people living with mental health issues in the town.

And finally, support workers from Harpers Green, an additional care housing development in Padgate, have been nominated to receive an award as well. Rachel Peacock, the Chief Executive at Making Space, has said of all the finalists: ‘It’s so important to celebrate the successes of all the hardworking teams within the care sector. Just being nominated means that someone has noticed how our colleague go above and beyond every day to achieve the charity’s vision to put wellbeing at the heart of health and social care.’ Taking all of this together, it is obvious that staff working in Warrington’s social care sector go above and beyond to support those in their care.

Whether or not they receive formal awards for their work, each and every person working in the sector embodies the absolute best of our community. And whilst they may not ask for applause for the work they do, they deserve it all the same. So, to all the finalists nominated for awards, and the many unsung heroes working in Warrington’s social care sector each and every day, thank you.
