WHEN a restaurant promises you’ll get your money back if you’re not 100 per cent happy with your steak, it would be rude not to try it out.

So we headed down to Opera Grill which is just down the motorway from Warrington in Chester.

Opera Grill has unveiled a new menu for autumn/winter which boasts the finest steaks as well as elevate classic dishes, a new raw bar, and an extensive wine menu.

Warrington Guardian:

The money-back guarantee follows significant investment by Opera in world-class steak grilling technology.

The Southbend Steakhouse Grill ensures a perfectly cooked steak every time, searing the beef at up to 1000°F to lock in moisture and achieve a crisp caramelised crust.

So we took a trip to Chester on a Saturday evening to try the steak for ourselves.

Warrington Guardian:

Before even heading in, you are greeted by the striking Grade II listed building in which the restaurant is situated in.

Inside, the venue is beautifully decorated. It certainly feels like somewhere fit for special occasions.

We decided to opt for two courses and chose starters, ordering the crispy fried squid, crispy duck spring rolls, and tempura king prawns.

Warrington Guardian:

The squid was uniquely paired with a noodle salad. It was fresh, light, and tasty.

The spring rolls were packed with duck which was absolutely delicious, especially paired with a pineapple and ginger dipping sauce.

Warrington Guardian:

And the king prawns were delicious – succulent with a light, crispy batter.

With such delicious starters, we had high hopes for the steak.

And it didn’t disappoint, it literally melts in your mouth.

Warrington Guardian:

There is plenty of choice, with even a whole section of the menu dedicated to sharing steaks.

We went for the 275G sirloin which was served with either triple-cooked chips or fries, a tomato, a mushroom, and a choice of sauce - béarnaise, miso butter, green peppercorn, or chimichurri.

I’d go as far as saying it was the nicest steak I’ve ever had. It was cooked to perfection and just beyond delicious.

It didn’t actually need a sauce it was so flavoursome.

Warrington Guardian:

It is clear to see why the restaurant is offering your money back if you aren’t 100 per cent happy with your steak as after tasting that, it is impossible not to be.

We were too full for a dessert, but we stayed for a while just to take in the surroundings and atmosphere of the Opera Grill.

It really is the perfect venue for a special occasion and even has private dining areas.

If you’re a steak lover, get yourself down to the Opera Grill – it won’t disappoint.
