PLANNING permission is being sought for the Ring O Bells site in Stretton.
The historic pub, off Northwich Road, has seen a number of tenants over the years, before closing as a pub in 2020.
It reopened as the Stretton Bar and Grill, though it finally closed its doors in August of this year.
An application was submitted to Warrington Borough Council regarding the site, requesting permission to change the use of the building.
As per planning documents: "The building will be used for Class E use.
"The building construction will remain the same with no changes.
"The car park with 24 spaces and access off Northwich Road will remain the same with no changes.
"There will be no modifications to any of the building/site layout."
When the applicants, Causeway Electrical Services, were contacted by the Warrington Guardian, it was explained that there are no concrete plans for the building as of yet, but it would no longer be a pub - if permission is granted to change the use.
The application continues: "The opening hours (licensed) are 7am opening, serving alcohol from 11am till 11pm Monday to Sunday.
"With Class E, the opening hours will reduce vastly for a majority of the uses in this class and therefore not increase.
"Notwithstanding this, the existing hours are 7am till 11pm Monday to Sunday, which will remain the same and unchanged."
The public consultation period for this planning application closes on November 29, with a decision due to be made by Warrington Borough Council before January 3, 2024.
