A CHAPEL in Croft has benefited from the hard work and dedication of loyal residents.
Croft Unitarian Chapel recently saw the introduction of new signage, which residents claim has 'brought some dignity back' to the area.
A joint venture between Croft Parish Council and dedicated residents has seen the chapel receive a new sign, which makes locals and visitors aware of the building's significance.
One of the volunteers who worked on getting the fresh signage was Cheyvonne Bower.
She told the Warrington Guardian: "Cllr Norman Partington put my case forward to Croft Parish Council to fund the sign and they agreed - iBrandSigns of Croft fitted the sign free of charge.
"When I first started working on improving the graveyard a few years ago, it was neglected and most people had no clue there had even been a chapel there.
"Hopefully, the sign has brought some dignity back to our ancestors and war heroes buried in a forgotten corner of the village."
Cllr Partington said: "The sign gives the Unitarian Chapel area a historical existence and an explanation of its significance which was much needed.
"People will now see it as a historical monument which was not understood before."
Chevyonne added: "We have been working towards this for a long time."
