A BUSINESS based in Woolston has been recognised for its work within the community.
Greencore Warrington, which is based off Grosvenor Grange in Woolston, has been recognised at a company nationwide awards ceremony.
The Warrington branch won big at the Greencore 'Shine Awards' for its work within the community.
Greencore Warrington earned the award last month for its work with local charity Creating Adventures – a charity that brings laughter, stimulation and personal fulfilment to adults with autism and learning disabilities.
Greencore general manager, Richard Martin, said: “It was such a nice surprise that our team has been recognised for doing something that we absolutely love doing.
"The real reward for us is to see the enjoyment and pleasure that our work brings to Creating Adventures' members.
"We find working with them to be truly inspirational, and it is a real joy spending time with them.”
Jenny Allcock, Founder of Creating Adventures said: “When we found out that Greencore had been nominated for their work with us, we were absolutely delighted because they fully deserved to win.
"Our staff team, the parents and the members themselves are extremely grateful for the huge support we have received from the team at Greencore Warrington.
"The experiences they have given to our cookery group members have been invaluable and they have also supported us with our recent ‘For One Night Only’ event.
"The partnership began with them sponsoring our 'Recipe for Success' cookbook and that’s where the special friendship started.
"The Greencore team have definitely become part of our CA family and we couldn’t be prouder.”
Not only did the Greencore Warrington team win the ‘Community Heroes’ category at the awards, but they also won three further categories, including ‘Team of the Year’, making the Warrington site one of the top winners at the 'Shine Awards.'
