What’s the name of the salon/business?
Oh So Hasty Nails and Beauty Academy
Are you the owner?
Yes
What’s the address?
I am based in Coven Beauty Salon Academy
Lineva House,
Unit 20,
Milner Street,
Warrington,
WA5 1AD
How many employees do you have?
I rent a room in the salon under Oh So Hasty Nails and Beauty Academy. I am a sole trader with no employees.
When did you open the salon?
I have been running my own business again for four years. I owned a business for nine years under the name D Nails and Beauty but gave up because I lost my confidence. I started back up again a few years ago and have been based in Coven Beauty Salon Academy for a week. I love it here - everyone is so lovely. It’s great working with such a talented team that offers a variety of hair and nail and beauty treatments.
Has it always been in the same location?
I worked from home for a couple of years prior to moving to Coven.
Are you local to the area? Did you grow up here?
I moved to Warrington when I was eight with my foster mum and dad, who to this day help and support me.
Tell me a bit about your salon/business
I named myself Oh So Hasty as I was always making impulsive decisions like giving up my business! I always wanted my own clothing brand and wondered what I could call my brand. I googled another word for impulsive and hasty came up - light bulb moment!

Why did you decide to open your own salon? Why this type of business?
When I gave up my business, I had several jobs and slowly started to rebuild my confidence. I missed doing nails and beauty so I decided to restart in October 2019.
Were you open before/during/after the Covid-19 pandemic? How did this affect your business?
Covid hit hard and I couldn’t work. My passion has always been to teach so I got in contact with an accreditation company online and put my acrylic, gel polish and builder gel courses together. I now offer these courses and I’m looking to offer more courses in the future.
What’s your hair and beauty background?
I have been in the nail and beauty industry for 21 years and I love all my clients and students who come through my door.
What services do you provide?
The services I offer are:
Acrylic Nails
Builder Gel nails
Gel polish Hands and toes
Manicure
Pedicure
Eyelash extensions
Makeup
Eyebrow shaping and tinting
Eyelash tinting
I offer courses online and at the academy and I am looking at branding my own cuticle oils.
What makes your business different to others in the same area/field? What sets your business apart from your competitors?
I don’t like to see myself in competition with anyone, as we all have our own styles.
Why do loyal clients return to your business?
My clients would say the treatments I offer last a while. I always try and build a relationship with my clients.
What’s next? What do the next few months hold for you and your salon?
Over the next few months, I want to start my own brand of cuticle oils and continue to grow the business, through treatments and the courses I offer. I am looking forward to my future based in Coven Salon Beauty Academy. I am really happy here as it’s such a good vibe. The girls and guys have been here three years and have built an amazing salon. They have two salon dogs who are absolutely adorable, so I am so excited to see what the future holds.
