WARRINGTON South MP Andy Carter was given an exclusive tour around a future Construction & Civil Engineering Academy at Warrington & Vale Royal College.
The academy is under construction currently and is set to open in September 2024.
Mr Carter was given a guided tour around the facility and the college by senior staff and was ‘impressed’ with what the college had to offer young people.
“I really enjoyed my visit to Warrington & Vale Royal College, looking at the college’s state-of-the-art construction and engineering facilities and to see the building work which recently started on its new Construction & Civil Engineering Academy,” Mr Carter said.
The future academy will aim to promote collaboration between the college, local employers and the local authority, with a sharp focus on the use of digital technology to advance the construction industry.
“We are really fortunate to have a well-resourced FE college here in Warrington and very experienced tutors, offering practical learning opportunities for students to gain technical skills which will help them in the workplace,” he added.
Warrington & Vale Royal College spokesperson, Rebecca Anderson-Moss said: “It has been a pleasure to welcome MP Andy Carter to the college and to show him the wonderful facilities, staff and students that we have in our construction and engineering academies.
“We are immensely proud of the work we do with employers and the facilities that we have invested in to ensure our students have the best possible learning experience with us.”
