A CHAPELFORD and Old Hall councillor has provided an update on the £40k investment plans into Chapelford's Dakota Park.

It was announced in July of this year that plans were in the works for an exciting new £40k cycling facility at Dakota Park.

This would involve a brand new pump track – a continuous circuit for cyclists of bank turns, interspace by rollers, and other features that can be ridden on a bike without pedaling.

Cllr Paul Warburton announced on Facebook: “This morning, officers from Warrington Borough Council's environment and transport team and I met on Dakota Park with the appointed contractors and pump track specialists, Clark and Kent.

“The proposed pump track will be approximately 20 metres by 10 metres in size and located adjacent to the footpath, next to current play areas on the park.

"Clark and Kent will design the pump track to ensure the maximum amount of fun can be experienced in a relatively compact plot.

“A planning application is being prepared and will be submitted to WBC in the very near future.

“Once the planning process is complete, probably in the New Year, the construction of the pump track will start, and will take up to three weeks.”
