RESIDENTS are being advised that a flood alert has been issued in Warrington.

It covers the River Mersey estuary in the town and incorporates areas of Penketh, Sankey Bridges, Bank Quay, Centre Park, Rivers Edge, Lower Walton, Howley, Latchford, Victoria Park and Westy.
The alert reads: “Flooding is possible in this area. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.

“Environment Agency flood warning officers set the river or tidal levels that have triggered this message.
“During industrial action, this message has been automatically issued based on rising river or tidal levels.”
