A SPORTS and community club in Culcheth is set to host a mental wellbeing day of fundraising next month.
The Daten, off Charnock Road, will hold a day of fundraising for the Peace in Mind campaign, which has been set up in memory of Brianna Ghey.
A 'Wellness Event' will be hosted at the club on Saturday, November 11, with all proceeds being donated to the campaign.
The campaign was set up in memory of Brianna Ghey, who was killed in Culcheth in February this year at the age of 16.
It has been set up by Brianna's mother, Esther, alongside the Warrington Guardian - the campaign aims to improve mental health support for schoolchildren in England, beginning in Warrington.
The campaign is fundraising to ensure that teaching staff across schools in Warrington can be trained by the Mindfulness in Schools Project, and therefore be able to provide more mental health support in schools.
In under six weeks, the campaign has raised more than £15,300.
Posting on social media about the Wellness Event, the Daten said: "As part of our 'Community Connections' programme, we are holding a Wellness Day on Saturday, November 11, with all profits going to the Peace in Mind [campaign].
"The day will start at 10am with a talk by Esther Ghey who started the Peace in Mind [campaign] in memory of her daughter Brianna.
"This will be followed by An Introduction to Mindfulness at 10.30am.
"There will be talks/workshops/classes throughout the day including menopause support, yoga, a confidence academy for children, practical mindfulness and more.
"A light lunch of soup and a roll is included in the ticket price as is as many workshops as you wish to attend - please ensure you select your talks/workshops on booking.
"Please contact us via events@daten.co.uk if you want a stall to represent your wellness business at this event."
