TWO food options have closed their doors over recent months after opening within Time Square.
The units formerly occupied by Parlour and Heavenly Desserts appear deserted at the flagship £142million town centre development.
Parlour promised to bring a taste of New York to Warrington with 22-inch pizzas, small plates, salads as well as craft beers, wine and cocktails – featuring local spirits with a focus on gin and rum.
Its aim was to bring a ‘laid-back, independent, neighbourhood atmosphere’ to the development – but signage and furniture at the unit has since been removed.
Heavenly Desserts meanwhile branded itself as ‘the ultimate luxury dessert experience’, boasting an extensive range of sweet treats.
The chain said it was ‘delighted’ to be opening and serving a dish for all the family, but it too has shut up shop in the town.
It comes after news that Revolution may not now be moving into two units totalling 7,580sq ft at Time Square.
Councillors approved the lease during a Town Hall cabinet meeting that month, but news of the chain opening has gone cold since then.
The Warrington Guardian has asked the council for an update on the move, with a spokesman confirming: “We remain in contact with Revolution.
“However, like many businesses operating in the food and beverage sector, it is undertaking a review of its business strategy.
“We look forward to further conversations in the future.”
The Warrington Guardian has made a number of attempts to contact Revolution for clarity on the proposed move, however none have been successful in gaining a comment in response.
Revolution Bars Group, which also comprises of the Revolucion de Cuba brand, was founded in the 1990s and now has 56 locations nationally.
Despite this, businesses have been opening at Tome Square including Hotpod Yoga and the reopening of both Gravity trampoline park and neighbouring Gravity Social.
Yum Cha will be also heading to Time Square, bringing its ‘authentic and affordable’ brand of dim sum and Hong Kong style street food for all the family.
This will be the third restaurant in the brand following success of its sister restaurants in Liverpool and Manchester, and it is set to open this autumn.
