A DISUSED farm building in Winwick has been put on the market for £1.5million.
The building, off Delph Lane, has been listed on Rightmove by Oakwood Property Services, which is based in Altrincham.
Delph Farm has been out of use as a working farm, but the owners have been using the site to run an equestrian enterprise.
The site that is up for sale comprises the old farm buildings, but not the farmhouse - though owners say they would be willing to negotiate over this.
Overall, the sale includes the farm buildings and the land they sit on - comprising 2.5 acres of land.
In 2019, the site was given planning permission to be redeveloped as housing, which at the time was specified as converting current buildings into 17 new homes, as well as the construction of two new dwellings, taking the total number of new homes up to 19.
At the time, a number of objections to the plans were lodged, with councillors making objections to the plans, too - dozens of concerns were noted by the council from residents and concerned parties.
There was also some concern regarding the horses that were living on the site at the time, it was believed some 70 horses would have needed to be rehomed.
The plans specified that six of the new homes would be considered to be 'affordable housing.'
Since then, however, the permission to begin a development has lapsed - though the property is ripe for a fresh application to be submitted in order for permission to be re-granted.
The Rightmove page for the property reads: "Delph Farm has been in private family ownership for several decades, having been built as the farm for Winwick Hospital and used to provide milk and other fresh produce.
"In recent years the owners have run an equestrian enterprise.
"The buildings are a mix of traditional red brick dairy buildings, with more modern portal frame livestock sheds.
"The buildings are set around a central courtyard with a single access point.
"The farmhouse is not included in the sale, but the owners would consider entering separate negotiations.
"A right of access will be reserved to the farmhouse over the land being sold."
