TWO high school students are passionate about making a difference during the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ in Kenya.

Thomas Turner, 13, and Matthew Ackers, 14, from Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, are fundraising for a trip with Camps International to Kenya in July 2025 for four weeks of personal development and charitable project work.

They will have the chance to live and work alongside local people while participating in a range of sustainable projects, including community development and environmental conservation.

Hoping to self-fund the trip as far as possible, the boys are planning a series of events, including golf days, bingo nights, Snowdon climbs, as well as other fundraising and sponsorship activities, to raise the necessary money.

They are hugely passionate about the possibility of making a real difference during what they view as an ‘opportunity of a lifetime.’

Thomas and Matthew said: “We’ll be immersing ourselves in local communities, driving sustainable change through community development and wildlife conservation.

“We’ll have the chance to connect with the super cool Maasai Tribe and create lasting, positive effects in such an amazing country.

“Please help us get there.”
