A NATIONAL study has named Warrington one of the best nights out in the UK.
Research carried out by ‘Get Licensed’ looked to discover the safest cities to go on a night out in the UK.
In the process, as well as being named the third-best night out in the UK, Warrington was also named the sixth-safest.
Ranking behind only Newcastle upon Tyne and York, Warrington received an average score of 8.01/10.
The study described Warrington’s night-out scene as ‘boasting lots of pubs and bars in its vibrant centre.’
It went on to say: “Warrington has a total of 279 CAMRA pubs (169 per 100,000) and also had among the lowest scores for its resident safety concerns, with just 11% of locals worried about being assaulted due to hate crimes.
“Pubgoers in the area generally feel safer about walking home alone at night than in other towns, with 52% of residents feeling safe doing so.”

As well as the low score for the number of people worried about being assaulted due to hate crimes, a comparatively low number of people, 27%, said they worried of being mugged or robbed.
On the other end of the scale, London was named the worst night out in the country, with the average cost of a pint now an eye-watering £6.82, and a measly score of 1.73/10.
