BINS will not be collected in the town for another 11 days, says Warrington Borough Council.
This is following strike action from refuse collectors who have walked out over pay and conditions.
The industrial action began on Tuesday of this week where more than 60 Unite the Union members took to the picket line at the WBC Woolston depot.
Strike action will continue until Monday, October 16.
This morning, the council has announced that it does not expect to be able to empty bins until this date.

A spokesperson said: “We are very sorry about the inconvenience caused by the industrial action for our residents and businesses.
“We are willing to listen to the concerns of local UNITE members.
“However, we must acknowledge that the ongoing dispute with one of our recognised Trade Unions is related to negotiations which are held nationally and is not about local conditions in Warrington.”
An update will be issued within the next few days on the council's plans for a catch-up on waste collection once the strike action has ended.
The following advice has been issued to residents for dealing with rubbish in the meantime:
• Flatten any household waste before putting it in the bin. This will mean you can fit more in
• Talk to your neighbours about sharing bin space so all bins are filled
• If you have the space and your bin is full, keep your recycling waste indoors
• Take your waste to a community recycling centre:
o Woolston and Gatewarth now open 8am-6pm, Monday to Sunday
o Sandy Lane now open 10am-4pm, Monday to Sunday
