AN adorable tiny pug puppy who loves to sleep on your chest is looking to be rehomed from the animal shelter he is in.

Dougal is only 12 weeks old, and he arrived at Warrington Animal Welfare, on Slutchers Lane near the town centre, after his owners deemed him ‘too lively’.

He is sure to be getting lots of attention from potential suiters, so you will have to be quick if you would like to take him home.

The Warrington Animal Welfare team said: “We cannot get enough of Dougal, but if you would like to welcome this cute boy into your home, do not delay and apply today

“This 12-week-old pug puppy came into our care at only 11 weeks old. He had been in his home for only a week and was given up for being ‘too lively’, but according to his foster mum, he is the perfect pup.

“Dougal is very wonderful, confident, very clever, curious, cheeky, fearless and full of personality.

“He loves to play with other dogs, so his ideal forever home would be with another active little dog who loves to play.

“Dougal is a little sweetheart and loves a cuddle and to sleep on your chest.”

Staff say he is a quick learner, responding well to praise, and has been doing great with getting used to his harness and lead in the garden, happily trotting around.

He sleeps through the night, currently in his crate, and is progressing well with his toilet training.

Staff added: “Please only apply for Dougal if you can provide him the home he needs – with plenty of time to settle in and train a puppy, where he will be left alone to get lots of sleep that all puppies need, where he won’t be left alone for long periods of time, where he has a secure garden to play in and where he will be showered with love, attention, and affection.

“As with all puppies he can be a little mouthy with tiny sharp puppy teeth, so if you have children, you will need to bear this in mind.

“We will be going through Dougal’s applications over the next few days, so if you do not hear from us, please do not be offended as we may not be able to reply to everyone who applies.”
