THE charity campaign in memory of Brianna Ghey has already raised more than £7,000.

Peace in Mind was created by Brianna's mum, Esther, alongside the Warrington Guardian, in a bid to improve the support for schoolchildren's mental health in the town.

Brianna Ghey was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Culcheth earlier this year - she was 16 years old.

The Peace in Mind campaign aims to raise money to send school staff on training courses provided by the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) in order to improve the provision of mental health support in Warrington.

A local tattoo parlour, Sam Small Ink, held a fundraising event on Saturday, September 30, in order to help the campaign reach its fundraising target.

The event saw the tattooists offering a select number of designs that would see all profits go toward the Peace in Mind campaign.

Among those who received a tattoo in aid of the campaign was Brianna's mum, Esther.

More than £700 was raised during the fundraising event, with proceeds yet to be added to the campaign's running total - but once they are, the total will be in the region of £7,800.

Sam Small Ink will continue to offer the charity designs throughout October, with proceeds going toward the campaign.

The Peace in Mind campaign has the backing of Warrington Wolves, the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, Warrington Borough Council, Andy Carter MP, Charlotte Nichols MP, and even celebrities like Boy George and Sam Smith.
