A GROUP of Cubs from Warrington successfully made it to 10 Downing Street, despite facing adversity along the way.
The 8th Warrington East (Croft) Cubs headed down to London for the weekend, and managed to take in the sights in the capital.
However, the long-awaited trip was almost cancelled before it began due to problems with transport.
Two days before the group was due to embark on their travels south, the coach company told the Cub Leader that it would not be able to take them as planned - but they had a replacement vehicle available that would cost them a further £580.
The Cub Leader explained that the insurance should have covered this, but this idea was shot down.
So, with less than 48 hours to go, a solution was needed.
Jo Hurst, Cub Leader, told the Warrington Guardian: "We had to find alternative transport very quickly or risk cancelling the trip that we had spent a year planning.
"Thankfully, Coach Hire Comparison came to the rescue and we were able to get alternative transport, but we had to pay £350 more than we had budgeted.
"We were eventually able to get a full refund [from the original company].
"Coach Hire Comparison saved our trip and as you can see from the photo it was worth it."
Jo added that the trip was 'amazing' and that the group 'got to visit 10 Downing Street, which was really fantastic.'
